Beginning January 1, 2025, continuing education (CE) will be required for all journeyman and master certificate holders who do not qualify for an age exemption. Continuing education requirements MUST be completed prior to renewing your 2026 certification.

Alabama Admin Code r 720-x-21 has been temporarily amended to extended the CE deadline through December 15 for 2026 renewals ONLY.  All CE must still be completed prior to renewing your annual certifications.  If you have not completed your CE requirements by this date, you will be put on a deficiency plan and subject to a deficiency fee.

LICENSEES

From this page, you can find our provider lookup, training opportunities that are being offered by the Board for CE, and a document containing frequently asked questions regarding CE.

If you are age 65 or older, you can qualify for an age exemption.  The required Age Exemption Form is linked on this page.  Complete it and submit along with the requested documentation.  This will only need to be completed once upon age qualification.  You do not need to resubmit annually.

If you wish to have a Board review class held at a location that would be eligible for CE credit, please fill out the Board Class Request Form and submit to the Board office. For a location to be considered for a class, there must be a minimum of fifteen (15) attendees and the class will need to be able to be listed on our website for all licensees to register for.
